Graphic Novel - Future Stories

The goal of this project was to develop a story set in the future using a visual medium. I chose to create a graphic novel depicting a world set 500 years in the future where all birds have gone extinct. I used an entirely black-and-white, high-contrast style with cross-hatching using ink felts and pens to convey the bleak nature of the story. This graphic novel aims to show the negative effects of the birds’ extinction on the earth and its people, both physically and emotionally. The main focus of this story is on the main character and his deep connection with birds. The story depicts this character's everyday journey through the dead forest, hoping to find any traces of birds that might still be around. He attempts to attract these birds using carved wooden whistles that mimic various bird calls.
